• The Eagle Choir consists of High School musicians. The Singers are required to attend six voice lessons throughout the trimester. The group performs three concerts a year and participates in the Large Group Music Festival on March 2 at JWP. The concert dates are listed below, please mark them on your calendars.  Singers have the opportunity to audition for small vocal groups and are eligible to participate in the State Solo and Ensemble Contest on April 4, at MSU, M. Men need to wear a shirt, black pants and black shoes and ladies need to wear black flat shoes which cover their toes. They will be sporting their choir robes for most performances. I look forward to making awesome music with these students this year.

    DESCRIPTION

    This Choir is composed of   9th -12th Graders.  Students will develop/demonstrate techniques and skills in the art of singing in a mixed choir.  Emphasis is on learning to sing in parts.  The music studied and performed is of a wide variety- from the music of great composers to the popular music of today.  Music with foreign languages will be incorporated into the curriculum. Students are also required to attend six lessons in a trimester, where they work on a solo or practice their part for the choir selections. The Eagle Choir gives three concerts and participates in the Large Group Music Contest each year.  LGC is on March 2, 2020 during the school day at JWP.  Students taking Choir are also eligible to audition for year-round small groups, such as Vocal Jazz Choir, Triple Trio, Mens’ Quartet and Womens’ Quartet.  Choir students are eligible to participate in the State Solo & Ensemble Contest held on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at MSU, Mankato. Female choir students need to have black flat closed toed shoes and male students will need black dress pants, black socks and black dress shoes.  The Choir will be taking a trip to Universal Studios Florida on March 26-30, 2020.

    GRADING

    Each trimester the student’s grade will be based on the following:

     Rehearsal points are based on the student’s ability to follow the rules listed below. 

     

    RULES

    Students are to be in the choir room when the tardy bell rings.

    Students are expected to get choir folders out and put them away each day

    Students are not to be chewing gum or eating during class. 

    Students are expected to display respectful attitude.

    Students are expected to put forth good effort during rehearsals.

    Students are expected to attend all required concerts/events.

    Water bottles are allowed in the choir room. 

    Students will be given a “tardy” for violation of the first rule.  Students will be reprimanded for a first-time violation of any of the other rules.  Habitual violation of those rules, will result in a period of detention with Mrs. Stenzel.  Should any student receive a second detention, the next violation will be result in after school detention.
