Research Careers- Here are some resources to help

• Minnesota Career Information System- This website provides information regarding 500 occupations as well as which colleges host such majors.  Note: A username and password must be obtained by the guidance office before use. 

• CAREERwise- This website provides information on exploring careers, paying for your education, and finding a job.  There is good information about careers in Health Care, Energy, Green, IT, and Manufacturing. 

• Occupational Outlook Handbook- This website provides information about the nature of work, working conditions, training and education, earnings and job outlook for hundreds of different occupations

• Climbtheladder- This website provides career-related resources such as job descriptions, resume examples, and interview questions.

• My Next Move- My Next Move is an interactive tool for job seekers and students to learn more about their career options.

Research Colleges- Here are some resources to help

• Minnesota State Colleges and Universities- This website will search all of the 2 and 4-year state public schools in Minnesota.  It covers the most popular majors as well as the most unique majors per institution.  This does not include the University of Minnesota system.

• Minnesota Private Colleges- This website provides information regarding 17 private colleges in Minnesota.  Excellent statistical data and information about each college's majors are included.

• University of Minnesota System- This website provides information about the five University of Minnesota campuses.  Links to all campuses are listed at the top right-hand corner of the page.

• University of North Dakota System- The North Dakota University System provides information and links to its 11 campuses.
• South Dakota University System- The South Dakota Board of Regents provides information regarding their 11 public university campuses.  Weblinks to each of the schools are provided as well.
• University of Wisconsin System- This website provides information regarding the University of Wisconsin system as well as links to Wisconsin's technical colleges and private colleges/universities.

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) opens on October 1. The FAFSA can be filled out by current high school seniors.  Our school hosts a "Financial Aid Night" to help high school seniors and their parents understand the financial aid process and fill out the FAFSA.  Look for an email from Mrs. Langworthy.
