District Updates and News
On February 11th, 2020, residents of the Maple River School District approved a $63.3 million bond to build a PK-12 grade facility by a 10-vote margin. On February 27th, a recount confirmed the passage of the bond by a 6-vote margin with 1034 yes votes and 1,028 no votes. The location for the new facility is on the south end of Mapleton near Highway 7. Construction of the building will start in spring 2020 with a projected opening in fall 2022.
As we move forward, we will share progress and timeline updates on the building construction.
We see a centralized campus with balanced classroom sizes and equal access to resources and support. This improved learning environment will enhance our students’ interactive, collaborative, and social learning experience and prepare them for the changing workforce. Students, staff, and community members will benefit from improved air quality, accessibility, and safety with a modern-day learning environment.
